2021 LCPHC Tourney Cancelled

We have been hard at work trying to navigate the current state of the Covid-19 pandemic. We have had conversations with state, local, and town officials to understand the reality of a 2021 Lake Champlain Pond Hockey Classic tournament happening. Unfortunately, due to the current state of the pandemic, restrictions and guidelines set forth by the State of Vermont, we will be unable to host the 2021 tournament.

As of December 15, 2020, Governor Scott extended Executive Order which prohibits gathering with people from other households. This includes both inside and outside social gatherings, in public and private spaces. The Governors orders also state β€œAll recreational sports programs, including organized and/or informal recreational youth and adult league sports, practices, games and tournaments, are hereby suspended.” These orders coupled with the strict travel restrictions in place for the state make it nearly impossible for us to host the tournament.

Our hope was that these guidelines and restrictions would be lifted in time for us to drop the puck. However, due to the current state of the Covid-19 pandemic, the recent and past guidelines issued by the state, and what is predicted for the coming months, it is unlikely the restrictions will be lifted in time for us to host the tournament.

We appreciate the continued support from our teams and are already looking forward to returning to Vermont and the ice with all of you for the 10th Annual Labatt Blue Lake Champlain Pond Hockey Classic in February of 2022. Until then be safe.
