February 20, 2012: The Pond Hockey Classic adds a special event, or game, to their Sunday afternoon schedule. Preceding the championship games on the tournaments second day, the Vermont Sled Cats took the pond for some old school hockey fun.
Sled hockey was originally designed to give those participants with a physically disability the opportunity to enjoy the game of ice hockey. Currently, sled hockey is one of the most popular sports in the Paralympic Games.
Spectators, media, and other participating teams gathered at the first rink to watch a great game of sled hockey. In the end, Green Sleds outscored the White Sleds, 2 to 1.
Without question, all competitors, as well as all the individuals watching, enjoyed the sunny afternoon and got the true feeling of pond hockey. This is the intention behind bringing the game of hockey back to the pond to realize what it is all about…..
